LiLyPad Arduino embroidery

The LilyPad Arduino is a microcontroller board designed for wearables and e-textiles. It can be sewn to fabric and similarly mounted power supplies, sensors and actuators with conductive thread. The board is based on the ATmega168V (the low-power version of the ATmega168) or the ATmega328V. The LilyPad Arduino was designed and developed by Leah Buechley and SparkFun Electronics.

SparkFun and Knitty.com has joined up for a contest to give away the LilyPad Arduino parts to make your own Know-it-all Bag! Just blog how you would use the Know-it-all Bag. But hurry...the contest ends March 26th! http://knitty.com/blog/?p=131

Open Source Embroidery in San Francisco

I'm proud to announce the opening of Open Source Embroidery, an exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Folk Art on October 2. It's a great show with lots of crafts intersecting technology, including my LilyPad Embroidery piece. The show has traveled all the way from Sweden and looks truly fabulous. You can check out pictures of what the exhibition looked like at the Bildmuseet in Umeå, or stop by in person when the show opens in SF; I highly recommend it!

QRack c.1893: Votes For Women

www.glittyknittykitty.co.uk

We, the Knitted Terrorists, are committed to knittivism through the systematic and systemic use of knitted accessories, short rows and felt. We will spread the knittivist word by reporting on knittivist activities - all who fail to heed our message will be condemned to mass production, chilly winters and bad fashion. Join in. Be a knittivist. Knit a revolution. Now.

Censorship

http://radicalcrossstitch.com

How do you make cross stitch radical?
If you spend a minute searching cross stitch patterns you will see that 99.9999 percent of the patterns are of wanky slogans, awful farmyard scenes or nauseatingly revolting marriage commemorations. There are a couple of exceptions and you can see their links below. What is needed is cross stitch with imagination and a message. How that’s done is of course up to you as we are all beautifully creative creatures. On this site I’ll put up some of my patterns (and the finished result when I get around to them all…) and hopefully some of yours when you get all inspired to make your own.
